Monday night blues....

Polo was a bust tonight. I brought three mallets with me, and apparently that was two more than I needed. Bah. I need my fix.

Rained out.

Edwin and were the only ones to show up last night. Of course it had been raining all day, and the day before.... and it's raining again today.

Oh well. I guess I can wait until monday. It'll give me time to keep reading up on the forums at You should too.

Aah, monday!

Good night, good night!

Only about 10-12 cats showed up, but they were all dedicated, good peoples.

The die-hards spend about 2-3 hours gettin' practiced' up. Solid effort on everyone's part. Bruises mean we're trying. I'm not sure if it's osmosis or practice, but I think we're actually getting better!

After that Francis, Ryan, and I went out for a pint or two, though that turned into quite the night. A very good night, actually.

In other news, I think this would be a good challenge...

All around good times, though we need to practice more.. I took a few pics tonight; I'll post 'em once I find my camera.

Smile for the camera + internets

Ryan and Rinzin love taking photographs, so there's lots floating around, many to be found here and here.

Also, here's the few local cycling sites that exist (or at least that I know of)...

little 500 forum -->

road racing news -->

fixed, tricks, and such -->

road races and such -->

polo crew -->

everyone's favorite -->

And speaking of Craigslist, today I ran across this little beauty...

...a Trek T1 that looks strikingly familiar to one I saw just two nights ago. If you like what you see it's available for sale here.

And finally a haiku:

Polo monday night;
starting around 10 o'clock
wheels and mallets break.

I f*cking love Bloomington!

Yes. Yes. Yes. Bike polo has finally reached our small midwestern city! Last fall when I was living out in Seattle I saw some kids playing polo underneath the I-5 near Green Lake. My interest was piqued, but I never had time to play. Springtime brought a new job, though back in good ol' Bloomington, Indiana. The past few years I always had trouble finding people to ride with, let alone enough for something as grand as bike polo... better late than never!

This past Thursday night marks three weeks since the original meetup, but its actually the fourth (or fifth?) time most of us have played. Numbers have been increasing every night! People are talking and there is plenty of interest floating around.

I started this blog because I wasn't sure if we had one going yet. But we do. Edwin (or Rinzin) already beat me to it and started So I'll leave the official information stream to those guys and instead use this bit of real estate for my own unnecessary commentary. Maybe this'll get some use, maybe not.
