Thursday afternoon townie game - 5-8pm tonight!

Remember this court? Since the on-campus pickup at Wright has gotten so crowded we're gonna start playing again at the big court across from the hospital. Primarily for the veterans (hah, veterans), but really anyone is welcome, especially if you're reading this now. More polo in more places!

And of course normal pickup is still happening at 9pm behind Wright.

Now let's get out and enjoy this beautiful weather!

Australian Championship recap video

Aussies just seem to have more fun, don't they? Great recap video of the first Australian Championships where they crowned their national (continental?) champion. I like how the video points out the Syndey and/or Melbourne "double goalie" strategy. Since those are the two teams that made to the finals i'm guessing it worked out well for them... but from what i see the Euros are already ahead of 'em with their 3-man turtle shell defense. Especially since i'm relatively new to the sport, it's nice to be able to compare the progress of other rookies.
Good times down under!

East Van Crown - epic final match!

Amazing Bike Polo Final Game from brawcast on Vimeo.

The (first) final match of the East Van Crown. Seattle goes up 4-0 before Rory and the boys in black score 5 in a row! Amazing. Unfortunately Vancouver went down in second final (it was a double elimination tourney) but at least we have this awesome video to remember such a gallant effort!

The Cardinal flies in to Tree City

Obligatory shot of slayer-steed.

If this was facebook the caption would read "in this photo- Jordan's rear end, and some other random people."

Jake, lookin' like a modern, southern indiana version of James Dean.

Yes, he's that fast.

No, even on his bike i'm not that fast.

What the hell is Brenden doing back there?

How many pizza rolls can Ryann eat?
Let's just say that plate was waaay more full before this shot and empty moments later.

Fuggin' dice. This is what every tournament seems to devolve into- now it's reached our post-pickup drinking nights!

So great to see Chris and Tiffany again, especially in our beautiful little city. Word is they'll be back up in a few weeks, so hopefully we can get more cities involved and throw a little friendly. Plus the weather is gonna be perfect in a few weeks. There's nothing better than Bloomington during Autumn. Don't believe me? Come find out! If we can get 33 people to show up just cause a slayer is in town for the day, imagine how big things could be if we actually planned ahead of time! Alright, enough rambling. Thanks again Chris, it was a helluva night.

Drew's fancy polo flyer

Yeah yeah it took me two weeks but here's the actual pdf.

Print, post, share, repeat.

Team Smile vs. Machine Politics @ NAHBPC by Mr.Do

Smile vs Machine @ NA's from Mr.Do on Vimeo.

And now to complement the previous "slowed down" video here's one that features a lot of speeding up. Kinda like those condensed Premiership matches you see late at night. Pretty cool format and, as always, another amazing video from Mr. Do!

Nice video from the Polish Championships

Bike Polo Championships - Poznan from gajorro on Vimeo.

So well done! Really loving the slowed down video- i'd love to see this method used for a full speed wreck or a sweet 180 scoop shot. And i really like how they've "customized" all their boards, unassumingly because they use 'em so much. Plus everyone just looks like they're having a lot of fun!

2. "CrossFuckers" : Przemek, Piotrek, Jacek - Warsaw
3. "Pedały z Cukru" : Dawid, Mateusz, Kamil - Krakow

Indiana State Championship - photo recap

An incredibly fun, rainy, and tiring day! I'll write more later, but for now here's my usual roll of crappy photos. Bruce also took a bunch of photos with his fancy camera, so hopefully he'll post 'em soon (and without his name stamped over all 'em). A million thanks to the Indy crew for putting on such a great event! Keith, Chad, Jay, Bryan, Joe, Shawn, James... you guys are all awesome and i'm so proud to be a part of Indiana polo with you. Lots of great times ahead.

Tree City Polo!
