Slayerfest in MKE - Applications due tomorrow!

I hadn't really considered playing this tournament until recently, and the few teammates i had in mind can't make it then... so on the latest of notice- anyone wanna try and form a team for this? It's a "merit based application process" so no one is guaranteed a spot, but worth the effort to play with some of the best in the world.

Urban Brad's Geekhouse polo bike

Damn that's a pretty bike! I don't even like yellow but with the all black cranks, the chrome couplers, and all the little red accents (down to the freewheel and the st.cago logo) that may be the best lookin' polo bike i've ever seen. And thank god curved seat tubes are making more appearances!







Hooray for customs! Everything about this bike is just perfect. Can't wait to see it in person.

I wish i could attend events like this, but alas, time and money are two things I do not have a lot of... oh well- Bench Minor Chicago! and i'm not playing so it's drinking and cheering for me!! The bike hockey format is really taking off this year; i like it!

Behold, the Master Sword!

After making about 30 or so mallets I think I've finally settled on the perfect design. Extra long length, UHMW head, modest sidecuts, top and bottom weight reduction holes, rubber inner tube grip, big knob on the end. Travis and I have been using these for a lil' bit now and the improvement in ball control has been astounding. And scoops like whoa, of course.

BUT- every time I think I've found the best possible combination something else comes along and changes my mind. Will this permutation be the final one? Maybe; probably not. Malletcraft is fun though, I'll make more just cause I like making 'em!

Brooks Colt saddle

Travis' beautiful new polo saddle. Sure it costs more than my whole bike, but what a piece of craftsmanship! He switched from a Brooks b-17, which itself is very nice, but he felt it had too much flex and wasn't as durable. And that soft mustard color looks waaay better on his Joust.

Champaign-Urbana's roller hockey court

This weekend i visited my special lady who just took a job over in Champaign-Urbana. While exploring the town we happened upon the most glorious of sites-- a full sized roller hockey court!

200x80. Full dasher boards. Penalty and team boxes. Damn i wish this thing was in Bloomington!

Saturday night I even heard a rumor that a few people in town had played before. Next time I'm over there I'm gonna dig a little deeper, but could a new Illinois club be in the cards? I hope!
